At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Summarize how new legislation will affect their pharmacy practice, specifically related to how pharmacy legislation is passed.
- Discuss different levels and requirements of physician supervision for pharmacy services.
- Identify billing codes that can be leveraged by independent pharmacies.
- Review at least two unforeseen operational challenges commonly encountered by new independent pharmacy owners and propose one practical strategy for mitigating the challenge.
- Define the importance of proactive networking and collaboration within the independent pharmacy community.
- State how current healthcare trends impact independent pharmacies.
- Identify the current landscape of community pharmacy, considering at least two significant challenges and two emerging opportunities, and describe how the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) is actively addressing these issues.
