At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

  1. Summarize how new legislation will affect their pharmacy practice, specifically related to how pharmacy legislation is passed.
  2. Discuss different levels and requirements of physician supervision for pharmacy services.
  3. Identify billing codes that can be leveraged by independent pharmacies.
  4. Review at least two unforeseen operational challenges commonly encountered by new independent pharmacy owners and propose one practical strategy for mitigating the challenge.
  5. Define the importance of proactive networking and collaboration within the independent pharmacy community.
  6. State how current healthcare trends impact independent pharmacies.
  7. Identify the current landscape of community pharmacy, considering at least two significant challenges and two emerging opportunities, and describe how the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) is actively addressing these issues.
